Re: Yagabook Windows 10 - Lenovo Paper UAC pemission request on every boot up

Me and my friend have the same problem after updating our YogaBooks to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update version 1709. Since then, at each windows startup, Lenovo Paper asks for UAC permission to run and "make changes to the computer".

I tried deleting it then installing it again from Lenovo website, but that didn't fix the problem.

What I did was disabling UAC (user account control) completely which is not recommended. I'll keep it disabled until I find a fix for this annoying problem.

Please keep me updated if you find an additional fix to this problem.

Thanks

Faris

I haven't received the fall update yet, but I have noticed that I have too this Paper thing installed but no app for it. So would it be maybe safe to just remove it? Windows and OneNote is perfectly capable of taking notes using the pen. Does anybody knows for sure what is it for?

When you tap the pen button on your createpad, a little OneNote box appears on the bottom right corner of the screen. Touching it will lunch OneNote for you. That is Lenovo Paper which is basicly a shortcut to open OneNote.

Anyone else is having this problem?  Anyone has found a solution yet?

It only happens after updating to Fall Creators Update 1709.

I had these permission requests before FCU so I don't think it's just that. As FarisJayyousi says it's seems to do nothing but open One Note -  which I can easily do without. I have had it disabled for a long while without any issues. So yes, uninstall or disable it. You could always reverse that action if you find a reason to.

The thing I find odd is it seems to be a lot of software (18 or 19mb isn't it?) to do so little.

Does anybody now how to uninstall LenovoPaper after the Fall Creators Update? It does not appear on my software list. I "emptied" the folder once and that worked (the message disappeared) but that is not the "best" solution. Reinstalling LenovoPaper brought back the issue.

Start Menu > Windows System > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall A Program -choose Lenovo Paper the uninstall button.

Or: Right click Start Menu > Task Manager >  More Details> > Start Up - Right click on Lenovo Paper and choose disable.
