Yoga Book-Windows 10 Version 2004

2020-06-17, 20:37 PM

Today I updated my Lenovo Yoga Book to version 2004. The update process took too long as expected but everything went smooth without any problems.

Everything is working fine so far except for the Halo Keyboard's vibration function. For some reason, haptic feedback no longer vibrates properly. I tried reinstalling Halo Keyboard 2.0.0.7 drivers but it didn't fix the problem. The touch tone still works fine and the Halo Keyboard performs normally.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
Thank you and stay safe 🙂

I have a feeling there's a specific driver for the haptic feedback - but I couldn't find it just now. I'll have a proper look for it a bit later.  I

dislike the haptic feedback myself so I haven't noticed that as an issue.

You might also want to check that printing works OK before you actually need it. There is a known update bug making printing not work.

A fix has issued for some versions of Windows but this one yet, I believe. (I haven't checked this out yet myself 'cos I haven't needed to print

anything.)

It's also worth checking your Windows security settings - there's a new feature there that is worth making your own decision about. It feels a bit

privacy intrusive to me.

Thank you @davidbenton for your reply. Please let me know if you find that driver. Everything in the Halo Keyboard works fine now except for the vibration function. It works randomly in a very strange way and with strong vibration on random key presses. Furthermore, the slide that lets you control the vibration (weak/strong) in the Halo Keyboard app no longer works. Other than that, it performs normally and recognizes the Pen.

First thing I try after each major Windows update is printing and I found no problems with that. I also double checked my settings to make sure everything stays the way I like.

Thanks again
Faris

The printer issue was with a cumulative update after 2004 came out. I've only read about it in the technical press.

The driver I was thinking of is called "yoga_book_multi_mode_vibrator_packages". The version I have kept tucked away is from 2016.

I seem to recall at one point finding my vibration wasn't working. I think I tried it in response to a previous post, long ago here.

For the sake of completeness I got it working - and I think it was by installing, or perhaps re-installing, this driver.

I've tried attaching it here - but I guess Lenovo might not allow it here.

I spent the past two hours trying to fix this problem but unfortunately nothing worked. I installed the Vibrator Setup that you attached and it didn't make a difference.

I guess I'll just get used to the Halo Keyboard without vibration from now on. At least touch tone is there and works fine whenever I need it 🙂

Thank you David.

I had a quick look at a few old threads. One solution that worked for a couple of people was to install the driver then update through the device manager. (I guess you've probably already done that).

The other looked like the sort of thing we should avoid doing if possible, but it's here:

I've tried all of the above without success. Everything was working fine before the Windows 10 2004 update. As soon as I finished updating, I discovered that the vibration haptic feedback no longer works properly. ☹ I can still go back to version 1909 but I prefer not to.

I'll keep trying to fix this problem and I'll post here if I manage to find a solution. I'm not expecting any help from Lenovo because they will simply say that the Yoga Book is no longer supported and that updated drivers may not be found. According to them, the Yoga Book was last seen in the list of devices tested to run on Windows 10 version 1703 if I remember correctly.

That is weird. The link below shows a table of devices that are tested by Lenovo to work fine with Window 10 version 2004. The Yoga Book C930 is in that list. Maybe try contacting Lenovo to ask for the reason.

Hi, I have this problem since version 190X (Insider), I don't think that the problem is cause by the DRV2604 driver, instead it caused by TouchSense Service (touchsensed.exe). I will try to reverse engineering that binary asap to see what might cause that annoying problem. The force feedback start to works like normal again after I restart the TouchSense service, but it not live longer that few seconds and it turns weird again.
