Re:Yoga Book-Windows 10 Version 2004

I thought I'm the only one having this problem. I still haven't managed to fix this problem and right now I'm using my Halo Keyboard without vibration. I don't know what to do now..

Let me know if you manage to find a solution.

Re:Yoga Book-Windows 10 Version 2004

I have the same problem. I updated windows 10 version 2004 yesterday,it took very long time. And because of the network condition and my patience, the update process was breaked several times. But the update was finally succeed this morning.

And then the problom appears. sometimes, the keybord does not vibrate, and the vibration strength can not modify. Only when I put the vibration strength to max, it vibrate every time.

It semes the the vibration strength becomes the probability of vibration.

I tried many ways, but nothing changes. So I rollbacked to version 1909, and every thing back to normal.

I'm not sure if the problom caused by those breaks, maybe I can try update again and do not break the update process.

There is also another problem after the update, my Yoga Book charges very slow. But I didn't clock it, so might be my misconception.

Yeah, this problem didn't happen prior to Windows 10 version 2004. I don't know what could cause this problem and I don't think that the next major Windows update will fix it..

I'm using my Halo Keyboard without vibration at the moment, and I turn on the touch tone whenever I have too much typing to do. I miss the vibration feedback though :(

About the charging speed of the Yoga Book, it has always been slow. I am not sure if it became slower now after the update. I prefer to turn off my Yoga Book before plugging it so that it charges faster and doesn't overheat the device. Actually, it's kinda impossible to use the Yoga Book while it's charging because it will overheat like crazy, especially in the summer, which throttles the CPU, making the device completely unusable.

Let me know if you manage to fix the vibration problem.

I suspect the vibration not working problem may be related to how the update is done. I have two Yoga Books and haptic feedback works on them both. I updated to 2004 by booting from a usb stick formatted by the windows media creation tool. (Though it defeats me why it doesn't seem to be fixed by the sort of methods mentioned above.)

For those who have rolled back to an older release where it works I'd suggest trying updating that way. Doing a fresh install keeping files and programs. And .... as I've often said before .... consider doing a complete system backup first so you can restore with that if need be. I use the facility in "System and Security > Backup and restore (Windows(7))" which has worked for me in the past just fine. Back up your data separately if you want to be really safe.

I think I'm right in saying that when these updates are done via the automatic system Windows does a lot of checking for compatibility and errs on the safe side. Perhaps when doing them as a new install this is by-passed because the wifi connection isn't made until later in the process.

Same problem.

It doesn't seem to support the newer version of the driver any more, instead it gives the same touch feedback as I first got it, before I manually updated the driver.

This is really annoying and I am sure that it's not a complicated thing for Lenovo to roll out a fix for this problem. It's a driver not being compatible with something in Win 10 version 2004. The Yoga Book is not even that old for it to be abandoned.

I think I've found a solution. It still not perfect though. It only works with the strongest two vibration level.

First of all, I am using windows 10 2009.

Go to task manager>detail>CMFService.exe>Properties>capability

Enable Run this program in capability mode win8

Enable rigister this program for restart

You might also want to enable the other two options

Sometimes the peroblem seems to come back if you type tooooo fast, very unlikly to happen, just simply restart CMFService in task manager>servise

I have also deleated ControlApp.exe and ControlAppResouces.dll in ProgramFiles>Lenovo>Yogabook, dont think it is related though

This didn't change anything for me. The Halo Keyboard already vibrates (in a very strong way) at the last two vibration levels. It's extremely uncomfortable to type with this strong level of vibration haha.
