Yoga Book YB1-91L keyboard sometimes have a life of its own

2020-09-23, 13:16 PM

Hello again. Now I understand why I received almost new tablet with box, pen and paper never used for free . Now I ask your opinion about keyboard. Case is, sometimes everything works like a charm,

but sometimes any weird things can  happen.

  1. Sometimes , starting with logging screen , keyboard make clicking noices, like somebody pushing keys. I can't enter pin code, keyboard just continued clicking. And I cant use touchscreen normally, if click sounds, numberpad  slides down. If I push power button once, screen went black and clicking stops. I push power button again screen lit and 2 times out of 3 I can use keyboard normally . But sometimes  keyboard and touchscreen just  freeze and  tablet must be powered off by long press on power button. Clicking can start after login in Windows, keyboard became impossible to use. But, if I use Word at that time, no letters or numbers appear on a document. Just sound as if somebody punching the keys. Push power button once -black screen-push power button again - clicking stops most of the time.
  2. From time to time keys 1,2,A,S,Q,W refuses to work. But, if I put a hand on bottom on the left side, all keys are operational again. Remove hand - these keys continue to work.

I already reinstalled  keyboard drivers from Lenovo support site.

Another thing. During factory reset and Windows installation, keyboard works perfectly. No clicking sounds, no freezes, no stuck keys.

Did anybody experienced any of this problems?

I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem. You may want to return it at this point (if possible).
