Yoga Book and Windows 20H2

2020-10-21, 11:16 AM

It being a rainy day here I thought I'd do the October update.

Downloaded via the media creation tool and ran from USB within Windows via the media creation tool.

All went smoothly and everything seems to be working OK. Took about 2 hours.

Should mention here the Yoga Book was previously on 20H1, kept up to date, and all was working well. (I also keep my data on an SD card, not in the WIndows User folders.)

I'm conservative in how I use my computers - don't get into all the newest features so I may miss things that will bother others. This update hardly seems to make any significant difference at all.

As ever, if you're going to try it, do you backups etc. first. I'd suggest also checking your settings carefully, but I haven't found anything that has bothered me this time.

It should be fine according to Lenovo devices tested for Windows 10 20H2 - Lenovo Support US

I couldn't see the Yoga Book on that list, and I don't think Lenovo have have tested it for compatability for some time now. Some people have reported issues with haptic feedback - although I've found it to be fine. I'd suggest that it should work OK but do a system backup (and data backup ideally) before updating just in case. Some users will also need to ensure they have enough space on the drive as well.
