Yoga Book, pen issue happended after recovery

2017-11-04, 15:38 PM

Hello everyone!

I got an issue of pen writting/drawing  on screen after I done OS recovery.

The pen works well to write/draw on keyboard pad, but the cursor doesn't appear when I use pen on screen which means I can't write/draw in any applications, every moves just like "touch"

I've tried OS recovery twice but the same issue still happened even I didn't install any update and 3rd party applications. I don't know what cause for the issue, does anyone can help me to solve it? Thank you very much! ( Pad/screen drivers or setting instructions...etc),

I made a vedio and please kindly refer to below link:

That is normal what you are experiencing. Mine performs the same way. Pen is meant to be used on the Waccom digitizer (Create Pad). You are unable to draw on the screen using OneNote.

However, Try using the pen to draw directly on the screen using other programs such as paint. It will work for sure :)

Don't worry your device is fine.

Let me know if you have other concerns.

I think you should be able to use the pen in One Note - select draw and choose which type of pen you want works for me.

If you don't select a pen you will get nothing as shown in your video. You must select a pen first.

It doesn't work for Windows Ink though - Sketch and Screen Draw (or whatever they're called, I'm on a different machine at the moment.)

Bamboo Paper and Inkodo both work with it OK.

I need to correct something I said above. The pen does work on the touchscreen with Windows Ink - I said it doesn't - I was wrong.

With One Note you must select a pen as I said, with the Windows Ink apps you need to select Touch Input - that's the little hand with a squiggly line icon before drawing. You can then choose the type and colour of line drawn. Staggeringly dumb of me to have missed that for the past year!
