Yoga book double tap and drag stopped working

2017-05-15, 19:50 PM

I got a few updates from Lenovo "driver update for Lenovo Yeti Windows System Firmware 00.31.0016" as well as an update "Shenzhen Huiding Technology Co Ltd. - HIDClass" around 05/11/2017. After these updates, I can no longer double tap and drag on the touchpad (for instance to move windows around or to drag objects in InDesign). I can still use the left mouse "button" on the side of the trackpad and drag, but that's super awkward in many instances as it requires two hands - especially in InDesign where I might be holding two keys with my left hand already.

Has anyone else run into this issue, and does anyone know if there's a way to fix this? I haven't tried uninstalling those driver updates yet, since I feel like there must have been a reason to push out updates, and I'm not 100% sure they're the cause yet.

Hello tomfhowe

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

TTry to download the Touchpad and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.

Also, Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.

(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

If system protection is enabled on your Yoga Book, then restoring your system to an earlier point via System Restore should fix it. You may also download and reinstall Halo Keyboard driver 2.0.0.7 from Lenovo website.

Let me know if you manage to fix it.
