I ordered a Moto X4 from the Motorola UK website on the 21/09/17. During the order process there was no hint of an estimated delivery date which i thought was odd but i continued nonetheless and ordered the phone. In the confirmation email i recieved the estimated delivery date was the 04/10/17, almost 2 weeks later. I wasn't very impressed with this considering i am struggling by with my old smartphone that desperately needs replacing as well as me waiting patiently for the X4 to actually be released.
On the run up to the 4th i checked the order status, that the Motorola website offers, and watched my phone transition through the order being placed to the device being built and the order being complete which happened on the 25th. However since then nothing has happened, my order status has sat at 'order complete' for over a week. Upon research i found that Motorola ship all of their phones from China and when the day before my delivery date arrived and the status was still firmly sat at order complete i began to seriously doubt whether i would see my phone on the delivery date given.
The delivery date comes and goes and what do you know, no phone. I have since spoken to two different people at motorola on the live chat support who have supposedly raised this issue with another department and told me to sit tight and wait for further developments, with one person telling me the delay is due to a public holiday in China and thats why my phone hasn't been shipped.
I am at a complete loss, if the order has been complete for over a week why hasn't the phone been shipped? What could possibly be going on whereby the phone sits at the complete stage with nothing happening to it. I expected a much better service considering i am ordering directly from Motorola itself and i seriously worry about the strategy Motorola are using to get back into competing with the big names in smartphones.
My advice, wait for the phone to come out somewhere else and order it from there, a much quicker service i am sure.

Exact same problem. Sat on "Order Completed" since the 25th. My two responses from "Support" were:-
1) We'll escalate this and get back to you (surprise, this didn't happen)
2) This is a pre order and the phone isn't released (then why give a date of the 4th and no update)

I imagine that would cause some disruption. Awful planning if that is the case.

The motorola live chat support people gave me a fed ex tracking number, even though the motorola order status page still has it in order complete, not in tranist, the fed ex page shows it has been sent with a delivery date of 6/10 (2 days later than motorola's estimated date

That's attrocious, I rely on those fedex notifications to reroute delivery to somewhere I can pick up from.
I'll give live chat a try and see where I get, just out of interest what date did you order ?

That's even better. I ordered on the 21st.
edit: I managed to use the order number and my postcode to squeeze the delivery info out of Fedex. It was supposed to have been shipped on the 30th which a scheduled delivery date of today by 12 noon but hasn't gone anywhere.
