Re: Ideapad y470/y570 audio stuttering

Ah found it. It did download, but that site is full of ads.

The file's called athrx.sys and once extracted and updated in device manager it seems to have done the trick! Result!

Thanks for your help man.

Danny,

it works fine from here, click the link in my post, scroll down half a page,

single click green button  >Click for Download<,

              Atheros WiFi driver.png

wait exactly 20 seconds for download window to pop up, save the file to desktop,

                   Atheros WiFi.png

unzip driver file into a new folder, then install driver manually,

keeping my fingers crossed...  Zehn

Edit.... you beat me to this post, Danny... Smiley Surprised

           glad it works now,

I don't see any ads, I'm using the  "NoScript" plugin in Firefox.

           Happy computing!

Re: Ideapad y470 audio stuttering

Brilliant response, Sir!

Your post is quite old, but it still bares true as it's 2016 and my OS is now Win 10. Used the DPC Latency Checker (a good tool for monitoring the DPC), and it was all in peak red, and it was off course very irritating with these sound issues over time. Following your advice I switched from Headphones to the Line Out option, and now everything is honky dory! Even the DPC Latency Checker is a happy camper now. Green collumns all the way!

Just wanted to say that this approach worked for me, so if anyone has a similar problem this is  worth checking out.

Thank you very much, augmental!
