How to release the mem card holder?

2020-09-16, 14:11 PM

It shows in the manual, that you use that little tool. But I can't get it to work. I don't want to push too hard. Is it supposed to "pop" out, or push out, or what?

Thanks all.

Hi Artied2,

I will be happy to assist you with this. Do not be afraid to use a little force when using the tool kit to eject the SIM card tray. It will pop out once you push it further. Please let me know if you have a question or clarification.

Best regards,
Zeke

Thanks Zeke. I'll give that a try if I can pry it out of my wife's hands. It was her birthday present.

Re:How to release the mem card holder?

Hey Zeke. It went well. Just had to push a bit harder. Now that I've added another 32GB to her phone, I have the option to "Format", or "Format as internal". What's the difference?

I found it. Here's a good explanation of the difference: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-212807/#:~:text=When%20the%20SD%20%2F%20Memory%20Card,be%20transferred%20to%20other%20devices.

Thanks.

I should add, for the sake of anyone else who adds memory, be careful when you do this. While the mem card "snaps" into place, the SIM card doesn't. Mine fell out on the floor while I was handling it. Also, the mem card snaps in pretty tightly. So, I suggest the you place the holder on the edge of a flat surface, so that the little "handle" overhangs the edge, then snap the mem card down into place firmly.

Hi Artied2,

Good to know that it went well. Thanks for giving us additional input on the SIM card tray when inserting an SD card. We'll make sure to forward this to our product team. Please don't hesitate to post again in case you need further assistance.
