5G Support with 2 SIM cards for Moto 5G plus is now enabled

2021-08-06, 5:51 AM

Im lucky to say that yesterday after renew my contract with my provider in Bulgaria- A1 Bulgaria, my phone now have a full 5G support even with both SIM cards enabled(dual SIM). I have done some tests for 5G  connection and it seems to vary in wide range depending tower distance.

So there is some results for Sofia (Bulgaria) with speedtest app (ookla) in downtown(for NDK- National palace of culture):

1. 1 km from 5G tower- Dowlnlad speed: 360 MBits/s; Up: 65 Mbits/s.

2. 700 m from 5G tower- Dowlnlad speed: 773 MBits/s; Up: 102 Mbits/s.

2. 100 m from 5G tower- Dowlnlad speed: 900 MBits/s; Up: 250 Mbits/s.

So if you dont have a 5G- dont blame the phone, but goto you network provider and check if your plan include this service.(in most countries rquires extra pay for 5G plan).

So for now i confirm thas on A1 Bulgaria network- 5G is fully supported with this phone!

By now Moto G 5G Plus does not allow 5G connectivity with Telenor BG. It is not about the phone, it is about Motorola...

The same thinks here.

Vivacom Bulgaria have 5G network and sell Motorola phones, for example Moto G 5G.

My mobile plan fully supported 5G, his name is Unlimited+ 5G, but my Moto G 5G Plus can't not connect with 5G network.

In my phone options for networks I see only 4G/3G/2G not 5G/4G/3G/2G!

Please help to solving the problem!

Hi Hybernoid,

Unfortunately Vivacom Bulgaria does not support 5G network for your model, as far as we are aware, so unfortunately we cannot help. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,

Sara

I see You help for many people that have same problem like mine - they carrier not support Moto 5G Plus, but You help them successfully!

Moto 5G Plus is not have official support from no one carriers in Bulgaria.

Please update phone options for networks with options 5G/4G/3G/2G because now we have only 4G/3G/2G, this is for all Bulgarian users of Moto 5G Plus!

I think this is a absolutely mandatory networks options - 5G/4G/3G/2G, for phone with name 5G Plus!

What You think about that, I`am very curious?

Thanks a lot in advance for Your response!

Re:5G Support with 2 SIM cards for Moto 5G plus is now enabled

Hi ! my experience with  Moto  5G plus is the same. After a 6 months of using i had only 4G+ network with A1 Bulgaria.

But after renewing of my contract they give me a 3 months promotion for 5G network. So even i didnt  saw any 5G option in my network settings(only -4G/3G/2G)

some how a had 5G enabled and the icon is changeg from 4G+ to 5G. I had this for only  3months anf now im  wih 4G+ .:)

So some carriers require 5G plans to have 5G enbled, bur i see that Vivacom and Telenor doesn support this phone at all. And that is very sad.

I have seen the 5G option(5G/4G/3G/2G) in my network setting only with SIM card from Vodaphone UK (prepaid SIM), but i dont have 5G on this SIM becasuse of Roaming.

We here in the community have little control over this. We can just pass the request along. However, it's not just a matter of flipping a switch in the phone. Moto and the carrier have to certify and approve the device for use on 5G. If the carrier doesn't want to approve it, we can't just turn it on. That being said we will do everything we can from our end to push this request up to the engineers who work with the carriers. We can't guarantee 5G support will be added, but we'll do our best to escalate. I know that's not the answer you're looking for, but I wanted to make sure you had the information. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks,

Tom
