No mobile data access

Hi. I bought the phone (Moto 5g plus) two weeks ago. Everything was okay till two days back when suddenly I lost the access to mobile data. These are only available if I'm connected to a WiFi network. I restarted the phone - nothing. I used the SIM with another phone and is working perfect. I did also the full hardware test - nothing. The only thing was GPS where the message came that might be a problem.

Try

Make sure you have not accidentally enabled Do Not Disturb Mode.

 

If OK.

 

Phone settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Access point names > 3 dots top right > Reset to Default and the long press the power button for around 10/15 seconds until the phone restarts.

What network was thi?I I had this on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning on my 3 sim.

 

Seems to be ok again now but was bloody annoying.

I've had this problem again today.

 

No mobile data on either the 3 or EE sim, despite the phone still displaying VoLTE was available and having full bars on both Sims.

 

This was in the middle of a city today. Came back eventually but then lost again. Lasted for maybe an hour or more. Tried airplane mode, data on off, full restart of phone etc. Changed data setting to 4g/3g from 5g/4g etc down to 3g only and it made no difference.

 

Bloody annoying

Same thing as happened to me. 4g appears in the status bar but it is a lighter shade than everything else. My provider changed my plan slightly today and then this as happened so it maybe something to do with that? My sim works fine in wife's device though and hers doesn't in mine so it's definitely this device that as the fault.

Try reaching out to your service provider and have them reset your APN Settings or provide additional troubleshooting. Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and IMEI -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Both APN settings can't be messed up seriously?   I have this on both sims a 3 and an EE one?

 

It's not a deal breaker for me at the moment, but there is clearly a minor software issue on the phone itself.

 

Hopeful that when andriod 11 lands the update and a hard reset will solve most issues like this.

Are you still having the no mobile data access on your phone? If it is, how often does this happen on both networks?

hardly left the house for the past 3 weeks. so on wifi almost all the time.

 

It's happened 3 times to me each time in major cities - doesn't happen where I live which is very rural.

 

No idea why
