Sound only on calls

2021-05-03, 13:35 PM

Hello,

I have a Moto G 5G Plus and I would like to know if there is an option to have the phone in "sound", but that only calls can be heard (no whatspp, emails and other apps). I've searched through the menu but can't find any option. My wife's phone is a Motorola One Action and I have the same problem.

Hope someone can help me ;)

Regards,

Hi Alan984

Thanks for asking. You can turn off notification sound from those apps. Kindly go to Settings > Apps & notification > see all apps > Whatsapp > Notification > Tap the bell icon > Sound > Silent. Not sure if you have the exact options but there should be an option for this in the Settings. Please let me know. Thanks.

Best regards,
Rich

Hello,

Thanks for your help. This would be an option, but it's a bit cumbersome since I have to go doing it from application to application, apart, with this I also deactivate the vibration of the notifications, and I am interested that the vibration is still active. Is there any other option to do it in a more general way?

I think this is about a problem in the stock layer of Android, a partner with a smartphone from another brand, and also with Android 11, can do it through the volume menu.

You can set the phone to vibrate mode it will vibrate when receiving notification but this will also cause for calls to vibrate. Currently, there is no option to separate calling for sound and vibrate for app notifications in stock android.

To set the phone in Vibrate mode:

1. Adjust the volume so you can see the volume slider and the bell icon above it

2. Tap on the notification bell to set it to normal, vibrate or silent mode.
