Cache Cleaner

Hi there, can anyone recommend/suggest an app that actually cleans out all the app cache that builds up? I have a Moto G Power phone, which has Android 10. Normally there's a manual set up for deleting the cache, but for some reason it's not available for Android 10, and after reading the phone manual (PDF File) I saw no information with regards to cleaning the cache files, and the only other alternative is to clear the cache manually. I have tried a few of the so called cache cleaning apps that are available on Google Play, but despite the apps descriptions stating that they clean the cache, they do not.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Re:Cache Cleaner

Hi lufbra,

Thanks for reaching out to us with your concern. Starting with Android 8.0 (Oreo) the option to clear all app cache from the storage options was removed. There are still 2 ways you can clear app cache. You can go to each app indvidually and clear cache on a app by app basis or you can use the clean section of Google Files (AKA Filed Go) to clean junk files.

Re:Cache Cleaner

Thank you for your reply, Zeke. I have tried the option you mentioned (Google Files), but unless I am missing a Settings feature I have found this app to not clear the apps cache.

Re:Cache Cleaner

Hi lufbra,

On the newer Android version, the OS will intelligently clear temp/cache files in the background. Google Files on the Clean tab (Button on the bottom left) will sometimes show an option for Junk files with a button to Clean. This should also clean up any temp/caches files for apps on the phone. If the option doesn't show, then there is no real need to clean the cache. Now, if the option is not there and you're having performance issues with a specific app you can always manually delete the cache from the app.

Re:Cache Cleaner

Thanks Zeke. I guess that what I must do is let the cache files build up, to a point where the Google Files app will show a button that let's me clear the cache. I shall give that a try.
