No signal/ horrible connection

Just bought the phone in July and have been a previously happy Verizon customer for quite a while. Not so happy these days. This phone constantly has no bars/ emergency calls only. Also randomly disconnects from wifi when everything else connected to wifi works fine.Im at a loss as to what to do about it. I've lost count of how many times I've contacted Verizon all to no avail and certainly am not going to pay out of pocket just to send this piece of crap away for"repair". Any word on how to fix or what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Hi  @ Lumps ,

I understand your disappointment, and apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. I will try my best to help you with this.

Please answer a few questions to help us identify and replicate the issue.

  • When you see that the phone does not have signal bars, is this mostly happening when you're at home?
  • Have you tried restarting your Wi-Fi router and allow it to reconnect to the network?
  • Did you also forget the Wi-Fi network on your phone then try to reconnect?
  • Can you also confirm if you have CDMA-less provisioning added to your Verizon account?

Mary

Re:No signal/ horrible connection

Hi. My phone loses signal wherever I am but yes I notice it most frequently at home because that's where I am most of the time. The only thing I have no idea what cdma provisioning is but one time last week when on the phone with Verizon support the lady said she was going to provision my account. Not sure if that's the same thing and service actually got worse for a couple of hours immediately after. I was without service for about 2 hours after that. I've done all of the recommended troubleshooting tips for the phone and through Verizon multiple times with no improvement.

Hi @ Lumps,

Thanks for providing us more details. We'd like to ask for more details which would help us know what may have caused this to happen.

  • Did it happen after an update?
  • Have you tried different SIM cards and see if it is doing the same thing?
  • Have you tried resetting the network settings? If not, here's how:
    1. Settings
    2. System
    3. Advanced
    4. Reset options
    5. Reset mobile, Bluetooth, WiFi.
    6. Once done, reboot the phone and see if that helps.

Let us know.

Regards,
Jess

No this didn't happen after an update and yes I've reset network settings more than once. Even took the phone into a Verizon store and they did the trouble shooting tip's with no improvement

Hi @ Lumps,

Thanks for providing us more details. Since your carrier is Verizon,  and have tried some troubleshooting steps. There will be improvements in the future update.

Re:No signal/ horrible connection

Well I appreciate your time but this is ridiculous! Very disappointed with this answer. Pretty much just have to suck it up and deal with it until an update with no time frame is available? Unreal!!

Re:No signal/ horrible connection

I also just got this phone and have experienced inferior connection. This is my 3rd moto g after 7-8 years and this one simply does not connected as well as the 1st two. I use it a lot at home where my signal (with Cricket) has not been great but at least functional. Now I have much more dropped audio, calls, and texts that won't go through. Very disappointing to say the least. This will be my last Motorola.

Bad cell reception

Is anyone else experiencing inferior connections? This is my 3rd moto g after 7-8 years and this one simply does not stay connected as well as the 1st two. I use it a lot at home where my signal (with Cricket) has not been great but at least functional. Now I have many more dropped audio, calls, and texts that won't go through. Very disappointing to say the least. This will be my last Motorola. This phone is also too big. It's about a half inch or so longer than my 2nd moto g (which was bigger than my 1st).
