As far as I know all unlocked Motorola phones are compatible on both GSM and CDMA networks.

The Moto G Power has four models:

XT2041-4

XT2041-6

XT2041-7

XT2041-DL

The Moto G8 power has two models:

XT2041-1

XT2041-3

Hi shivzone,

I'd love to help you with that. The Moto G Power XT 2041-4 is retail US retail device but can be also sold from carriers such as US cellular and Google Fi. The XT 2041-6 is a model only sold by consumer cellular. Please do note that purchasing the phones from carriers may be carrier locked. All phones variants can support both CDMA and GSM service providers. Please let me know if you have a question or clarification.

Best regards,
Zeke

Re:Difference between XT2041-4 and XT2041-6 ?

Hello,

I was wondering what the difference is between the xt2041-1 & xt2041-3? Is it simply an international version and North American version? I have tried searching the difference online but came up empty. I am looking into purchasing a Moto G8 Power but all the retailers that I see are selling the international versions only. Will I have to go to a carrier/service provider in order to buy a North American version? I live in Canada and would like to make sure that there are as many LTE bands supported as possible on the phone I end up buying. Any information or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Take care,

Hewyboy

You can buy the US version (XT2041-4) on the Motorola web site, from Amazon, or from a number of online "big box" electronics stores.  You'll want to be sure that you are in fact buying the carrier unlocked Moto G Power for North America, the XT2041-4.   The XT2041-4 has the North America optimized bands and warranty.

Here is my honest recommendation. I would suggest only purchasing phones intended for sale in your country. Buying "international" or other region models is not recommended. The reason I say that is we cannot guarantee performance in your country and on top of that there is no warranty. The warranty is only valid in the country it was intended for sale in. So if say the USB port goes bad, there would be no way to get the phone repaired in your country.

In terms of specs, the XT2041-DL is identical to the other models listed above. However, this particular model is sold exclusively by Tracfone Wireless and Total Wireless.

I have the XT2041-6 and the menu in network settings for Preferred network type I have choices of Global, LTE/CDMA, and LTE/GSM/UMTS. When switching from Consumer Cellular to Tracfone (Verizon SIM because of better coverage in my area over a GSM providers) the IMEI is not registering with Tracfone and says my phone is incompatible with CDMA. How can this be when my menu allows me to select CDMA?

1. Is your phone still carrier-locked to Consumer Cellular?

2. Have you used TracFone's BYOP tool to check for compatibility or register your phone's IMEI number?

3. Have you received a TracFone SIM kit?

4. Have you checked your APN settings?

I would suggest contacting TracFone for further help.
