Music formats

2020-06-28, 21:44 PM
Well I recently bought myself a Motorola G Power thinking a new phone would be a bit more awesome than my old phone. Imagine my surprise when my music app does NOT identify most of the music on my SD card... Because this phone, brand spanking new, does NOT, for some reason, play WMA files!! Ummmm... Can someone please tell me why?? WMA is much better than mp3 and I really think I should be able to play all formats in this day and age of technology. Come in Motorola, it can't be difficult to add codecs for WMA, nor can it take up too much space. I'm not messing about converting all my WMAs to mp3, so if something doesn't change soon, the phone is going back.

Most Android phones stock media players don't support Window's .wma files. I found this out years ago but have used the free,"VLC" player for years. It's,"Ad-Free" open source,

It also plays videos so I've got rid of two apps.

HTH :)
