TurboPower Charger Question

2020-05-03, 5:52 AM

I have a 15W TurboPower charger from my Moto X4. When I plug it into my new Motorola G Power, it says TurboPower Connected and it charges. Can I use the TurboPower charger over my rapid 10W charger? With such a large capacity battery, why didn't they include a TurboPower charger?

Hi Ender36,

Thanks for posting. Yes, you can use the 15W Turbocharger from your Moto X4 used for the Moto G Power. Our goal is great experiences and great value. We often have to make trade offs in order to deliver a phone at the price customers want. Not all phones can have a turbocharger that come with it in the box.

Thanks for that info. It's good to know that I can use my Moto G7 Power's TurboCharger with this device.

Maximum Charging

2020-05-08, 3:03 AM

Is the Moto G Power capable of charging at 15 Watts? The spec sheet on Motorola's official website states that it can only be charged at 10 Watts.

Hi Presto8,

The reason why it states that the charging is at 10W because the supplied charger that came in with the phone is 10W. We appreciate your feedback and check if we can add the maximum wattage that you can use for the phone.

Re:TurboPower Charger Question

The Motorola Moto G Power specifications contain

  • Charging: 10W rapid charging
  • Charger Type: 10W rapid charger

The first item is in error. The correction is

  • Charging: 15W TurboPower charging (10W in-box)
  • Charger Type: 10W rapid charger

The table below contains time and percent charge for the Moto G Power using the following Motorola chargers: the 27W TurboPower Model SC-31, the 18W TurboPower Model SC-51, the 15W TurboPower Model SC-22, and the in-box 10W charger. The 0-100% Moto G Power charging times are estimated to be 140 minutes for the 18W and 27W chargers, 148 minutes for the 15W charger, and 175 minutes for the 10W charger.

THAT is the question! :-) You would think that could have been the best argument to sell this phone --The phone with the largest battery on the market! And to accomodate for this, a turbo charger is included to minimize charging time.

But no, would have cost them 2$ more. Anyone would have paid an extra 5$ for this.

More like 50 cents. They do these things in the thousands... the extra cost is negligible

Yes, I had the same response you did....  Why in the world does not the biggest battery on the market have a true turbo charger, especially when it can actually take it??

I am using the charger that came with my old Moto G6 .... hahah a 15W turbo charger. Go figure!

Re:TurboPower Charger Question

Hi,

I have a 25 watt turbocharger from my old Motorola X Pure Edition cell phone. I would like to confirm if I can use this 25 watt charger on the new Motorola Moto G Power cell phone? Or, is the 15 watt turbocharger the max charger that can work with the new Moto G Power?

Please advise.

Thank you,

Andy5prod
