OTG Not Working Moto G Stylus 5G 2022

Plugging in a USB flash drive does not work on my Moto G Stylus 5G 2022. I've tried every setting, nothing works. The same USB flash drive works fine on my Moto G Stylus 2021 so it's not the flash drive at fault.

I solved my problem and maybe this will solve anyone else's also. What I did was simply attach my OTG adapter with the USB Flash Drive I wanted to use and restart the phone, it worked! Somehow the Moto G Stylus 5G doesn't detect when an OTG device is plugged in when running but when you restart it does. I've tried this method with several different OTG adapters, even with an older micro USB OTG adapter I had laying around using a USB C male to micro USB female adapter, that combo worked also. Something is still wrong though, it shouldn't need a restart just to detect there's a OTG device plugged in, maybe this is a bug Moto needs to fix. This is the OTG adapter cable I currently use available at most Walmart stores:

onn. USB-C to USB Female Adapter, 4" Cable, Compliant with USB 3.1 Gen 1 and Supports Data Transfer up To 5 Gbps https://www.walmart.com/ip/491327780

 

Note that nowhere in the description or specs does it say this is an OTG Adapter, but it is! If I try using a regular USB C male to USB A female/USB C Female adapter my flash drive is not detected.

@ke6rji:  I've found that the Moto G Sylus 5G 2022 is very picky about the adapter/cable that you use to connect a flash drive.  I had an iEssentials USB OTG cable (USB "A" female to USB micro "B" male) that worked fine with my old phone.  I plugged this cable into an Inland adapter (USB micro "B" female to USB "C" male), expecting this combination to connect the flash drive to my Moto Stylus phone, but the drive was not recognized.  However, if I plug the flash drive into a different Inland adapter (USB "A" female to USB "C" male), the drive is recognized.

Sorry but I forgot to provide the failed feedback when I plugged in the OTG adapter and device when phone was running, I couldn't replicate it after plugging in the adapter and device and restarting after success. I did provide success feedback though, hope it helps. If it happens again (it does)  I will be sure to provide both failed and success feedback
