Re:16.August "Security" update

2021-08-18, 0:08 AM

Yes, I really dislike the automatic update functionalities of android. I payed the phone and so I'd like to have "the last word" on updates!

I say no and the device says yes. What a mess. Just because some users do not care and never update properly we all are now forced into such problems.

I fully understand why Android says it's a kind of "must enable" feature now, just like Windows does. But not ALL of us need that treatment!

Normally I wait with updates if there is no urgent need to, just because of the same kind of issues like this one here now :-(

It was not the first time this happened with Android, iOS or Windows devices.

We want to inform our selfves or at least have the possibility to do so, and install the updates then.

I'd be very happy if you change the software so we are able to disable the automatic updates!

Or is it enough to enable debugging mode and turn the automatic installation of updates after a reboot off?

t.b.h I do not think it is related to an Update.

I disabled all automatic updates (apps, security/fw)... Still the problem applied at daytime (the automatic updates would usually be installed while charging at night). So Telekom/T-mobile changed something in Europe, which does not work well with the GSM-Module and the Phone-app causing a series of crashes, which then will be interpreted as severe error and forces the restart.

Moto g100 is not able to register on mobile network

2021-08-18, 5:19 AM

Hi All,

Please have a look at the attached video.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/CYf1oeUasGMoJjME8

as we can see, at a particular part of the reboot process the sim card "disappeares" from the phone.

It seems the registration on the mobile network does not work, therefore the phone keeps on re-trying for a while. After that it offers factoryt reset.

I did it, the outcome is the same, does not work.

The network operator of the problematic SIM is T-mobile hungary

Facts:

1, Moto G100 is able to reboot and operate without problematic SIM

2, the very same setup(Moto G100+ T-Mobile sim) was working for 3 month without any problem, the problem started on a particular date: 2021.08.16

3, Moto G100 is able to reboot and operate with Vodafone SIM

4, T-Mobile SIM is able to operate in any other Phone

5, I already did factory reset on the phone, and already changed the SIM card, I mean asked SIM card replacement from the operator, the outcome is the same

So for me it seem the network operators action on the network(or on my settings) or some phone update cause some capability exchange problem during registration or something like this.

Any good advice?

Thank you in advacne, Peter
