Same problems here compared to G 5g plus. I already sent photo samples to the camera app developers month ago. Auto focus is much slower on the G100. Images are over processed. Auto fucus in video mode is very bad. When there is a light source behind my face is so blurry and detail are very low with the selfie camera.

Sorry, you're unhappy with the camera. I took a look and I don't see that you reported this before on the community. How did you get in contact with the camera app developers? What did they say to you when you reported issues to them?

Thanks,

Tom

No need to compare them. I have them both. Same here. Now I will post photos done on the G100. One with the stock app+HDR. Others with the Gcam port. One with no HDR the other with. Even the one withouth is way better than the stock app. The stock camera app need alot of work in all scenarios. Selfies, main cam, auto focus,video,processing...

Re:Motorola G100 Camera Bad Optimization

I have sent the report trought play store from the app page. Dev. email was writen there. But something I noticed. The details from the selfie camera are so much better when I turn on night mode. But you see how much light is in the room. I think switching the night mode is unnecessary with so much light. There is something wrong happening when there is a light source behind me. Here is sample with night mode on. The details are much better and my face is not blurry. But it is not normal to shoot with night mode when it`s bright as a day.

The problem is with the focus when the light ball is behind me. On this photos you can see the light ball behind me and how bright is in the room. The difference is only the night mode. Some how it is fixing the focus to my face not to the light source. That is causing the lack of details on the face in normal mode. Try to replicate it and you will see.

Yeah I can see how night mode shows many more details on your face and in regular mode the details are very softened. Let's do this. I'd like to get everything over to our camera team.  Can you create a folder on Google Drive and upload all the sample photos. Then, give me the link. Also from the quick settings/toggles on your phone, choose Share Feedback and include a few of the photos with the details washed out and the description of the issue. Make sure you use the same email address you use in the community.

Let me know when you get everything sent/uploaded and share the link to the Google Drive photo. I'll let open a case up with our camera team to review/analyze the photos.

Thanks,

Tom

Motorola G100 Camera Bad Optimization

2021-10-26, 18:08 PM
Same popping issue on my g100 with Stock Cam. All above 2,0x zoom is useless because the Photos where pumped to bright a few seconds after saving. In Preview and the first seconds in Thumbnail are okay, then its popping.
