Motorola sent the OTA update labelled as "security patch up to 1 September, 2021 and bug fixes" if i recall correctly. If you're looking information about September, 2021 Android security update, check it here on Android Security Bulletin. Motorola does not specify which bug they have fixed in the latest security release but silently push an update for existing bugs in the software.

Like Motorola passed this update a few months ago it was just around 50mb. They can actually do it every month. They can just provide security patch update and a bug fix update every three months. It's win-win for everyone.

Hi Sagarkkk ,

We are sorry to feel you that way, we truly believe that waiting for a good release is better than having a potentially puzzling one pushed prematurely, with the subsequent need to carry out further work to fix bugs or improve its performance.

Regards,

Sandip

Re:Security patch update

The truth is that companies generally have a small team working on latest Android releases be it security update or major Android update. So development will take time considering a small team needs to literally work on developing a single solution for multiple supported devices in the market. A team has to work on developing (including optimization) for Moto Edge 20 Pro, Edge 20, Edge 20 Fusion, G60, G40, G10 and other smartphones. A same update could behave differently on different smartphones powered by different processor, RAM, etc. Plus the company has the ensure the update is kept as small as it can be and solve most of the issues while keeping lower-end smartphones in mind since they can run out of space and behave badly making the matter worse. Add internal developer testing time followed by beta updates to it. I think the solution to this could be companies should hire more engineers to work on software solutions, thus push updates frequently. The best way to make win-win situation for everyone is to go the Google Pixel way.

Change the senior management if needed, people need experience worth their money.
