HD Playback on Moto G60

2021-05-03, 9:25 AM

Hi,

On my new Moto G60, which has Widevine L1 certification isn't playing HD playback on Amazon Prime Video. This shouldn't be an issue as L1 certified phones should offer HD playback. I hope this will be taken up seriously and will be fixes ASAP WITH OTA update.

Hello all, we are actively working with Amazon on this. Can you try uninstalling the Amazon Prime Video app and then download it again. Let me know if you then have the options to stream at a higher quality.

Please let me know.

Hello and thanks for posting your concern. If I'm not mistaken Amazon Prime requires more than just L1 and it also requires a certification for HD playback, but I'm not 100% sure. That being said, How can you tell it's not streaming in HD? What setting do you have chosen for playback?

Let me know,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Tried on both Wi-Fi and Mobile data. The settings alone show the best Video playback is just 0.46GB/HR. And the connection speed is more than 30MBPS which is more than enough for UHD Playback.

Hello, thanks for sharing this. I too see the same streaming limitation even on my Pixel 4a 5G. I believe this still comes down a certification from Amazon (outside of L1 DRM). I will reach out to some people on my end to see if I can get clarification.
