Android 10 on G7 resulted in keyboard response delay

2020-03-18, 19:41 PM

Updated my G7 to Android 10 this morning.  Keyboard lag time is pronounced to the point where entering more than a six characters before the screen catches up causes the keyboard symbol pop-ups to appear until I stop and let the display catch-up.  Tried clearing the cache (no change), reverted the GBoard update (cannot be uninstalled) (no change), tried installing a different keyboard (no change).  Suggestions?

First try a,"Soft Reset".

Pres and hold the Power button until the Phone restarts(Usually just over 10 seconds).

HTH :)

Your G7, not G7 Plus, got Android 10 in the U.S.?  Say it isn't so! Is that why I'm still on the December security patch?

Hi D.OHIO,

May I know how did you get the Android 10? We're unaware of Android Q being released in the US for Moto G7. Regarding the keyboard delayed response, make sure all apps are up to date in Play Store. You may also try clearing data of the Gboard app (Settings > Apps > Gboard > Storage > Clear Storage).

Hi 96xj,

If you're interested in software testing kindly join us in MFN. Here's the link for more information.  Thanks!

Best regards,
