My apologies for the delay. I am just seeing your message tonight.

Thank you for investigating this. It is quite bothersome as it just randomly minimizes the active app. If does it while we are using any of our apps. It has done it while in hand, on a tripod while video recording, and while sitting on a table.

You may look at our check-in data.

I appreciate both of you for keeping up with me. All the provided details are shared and our teams would like to further investigate this. When you encountered this again, can you please generate a bug report?

 

To capture Bug Report:
Go to Settings ->Developer options -> Enable USB debugging > Toggle On
Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Bug Report shortcut > Toggle On
Once the issue is reproduced: Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Click on take bug report or Press Power button and then choose Bug Report from the Power down menu.
Wait for some time until the bug report is collected. It takes around 3 to 4 minutes to collect the Bug Report.
Then upload the BugReport to your personal Google Drive and then share the link to the BugReport via private message.
Provide observations of what you saw happen right before the bug report was taken. Please indicate the local time when you observed the behavior. 


To enable developer options: 
1. Go to Settings > About phone > Build number 
2. Tap Build number seven times. After the first few taps, you should see the steps counting down until you unlock the developer options. Once activated, you will see a message that reads, “You are now a developer!”
3. Go back to Settings, where you’ll find a Developer options entry in the menu

I have also been experiencing this issue. Very random, and both when I have the phone in my hand or when it is resting on a table or otherwise not in hand.

Thanks for reporting on this thread. I will include you on the report, but can you please look around in Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z4 community if there's a similar report? Also, can you please update your profile with the IMEI of your 2 phones? Will highly appreciate your inputs.

Thank you all for your cooperation. I just received an update from my team. We would like to see if this behavior is related to the Verizon's security & privacy app. If you have the Verizon Security & Privacy or Verizon Digital Secure app, kindly try the following:

 

Go to Settings > Apps > Tap on the 3 vertical dots (upper right corner) > Show System >  Verizon Security & Privacy or Verizon Digital Secure > Tap the 3 vertical dots > Uninstall Updates or simply tap Disable

 

Once done, kindly make your observations and let us know here if that helps. Thanks!
