Can I return my phone to Android 9?

2020-07-14, 22:04 PM
I really don't want to restore my phone to factory version to get Android 9 back. And deal with the hourly prompts to update to Android 10 again. Love the phone, hate Android 10. Android 10 uses more RAM with its security and Ram "saving" apps! What a joke. I had Hours of use on Android 9 before I needed to clear my cache. Now maybe ½ an hour. Grrrr. And remember Android 8, how it cleared it's cache all by itself, while you used it? Miss that a lot. Is there a simple way to literally back it up to an earlier date, like you can with a tablet or computer, so I can get my phone working again? Or do I HAVE to restore to factory version, and lose my personalizations? And how do I shut off the constant update prompts? Drove me nuts until I regretfully installed Android 10.

I did a factory restore and nothing. I've lost my lte service and can't send MMS messages. I'm not that tech savvy, so there may be more messed up that I'm not aware of. Good luck!

Hi wagygirl,

Unfortunately, there's no native way to rollback to the previous software. Can you provide more details? I'd like to help. Thanks.

Hi DaraB,

Thanks for posting on this thread. I will assist you on the thread you created - link.  Thanks.

Hallo, was also looking for an option to turn back to Android 9.
Since the update my phone (g7 power) is slow and freezes from time to time.

Tried a full reset already didnt help.

I was so happy before with my moto until the update it was the best smarty I ever had.

Is there a solution in progress?

Hi Lilithskitchen,

Like I mentioned there's no native way to revert back to the previous software. As for your concern, I'd like to help you with that. Please create a new thread or look for similar thread with the same topic to avoid cluttering on the site. Thanks.

Best regards,
