Hi res dac | Moto G7 Power

2020-05-22, 8:47 AM

Can someone please tell me why this phone advertises hi res playback, yet the dac is disabled. The g series is really going down since the 5 model

Hi Rebelwolf,

I appreciate your post. I will ask and confirm if the phone does support DAC/LDAC. Can you please confirm where did you see the statement about hi res? Thanks.

Best regards,
Rich

The system chip 632 snapdragon supports hi res. Note that the g5 plus 625 snapdragon supported hi res and was enabled. The g7 power however is disabled. And thank you for the quick response. Ive included screenshots for both system chips supported by the g5 plus and the g7 power

Hi Rebelwolf,

Thanks for providing more details. The screenshot you shared with me is for Snapdragon, this would still depends on the phone if it supports it. I will ask around and try to confirm what Bluetooth codec does the G7 Power supports.

Thank you for the response. But im not asking about Bluetooth codec. I know it supports Aptx. Im asking why the hi res dac in the g7 power is disabled. The g7 powers chip supports 192khz 24bit hi res play back. But is for some reason disabled. But my old g5 plus was able to output at 192/24.

Hi Rebelwolf,

I will ask that specific question to our Audio engineers. I will let you know if I have confirmation. Thanks.
