Re:MOTO G7 Battery Level Gone From Circle Clock After Android 10 Upgrade

2020-09-02, 22:56 PM

Like you could stop us, Rich! OK, I know that "stop" part might have been a slip of the tongue but to think you could stop users when, in six weeks, you haven't been able to move the Moto Heads, sorta says something about your clout! Not to mention, ours!!

I can tell you WHY they did it - Because they, either didn't take the time/effort to keep it, or because they weren't interested enough to discover the value it represented to Moto owners. I'd hate to think that, like Google, Firefox and others, they thought useful, VISIBLE features "cluttered" up the user interface. 'Oh, it looks so much cleaner now!' Problem is, what used to take a single click, now takes multiple clicks.

So, to take a cue from all of those who despise clutter, I am building a separate structure to house all of my TVs, computers, furniture and appliances. Of course, whenever I want to sit down to eat/watch TV, I'll have to move it all back in the house but that's the price you pay for the echos of an uncluttered house! Sound good?

Glad I could help.   No idea why they'd pull that.  I thought it was a pretty neat feature.

There is a widget in the Play Store simply called "Circle Clock" that has the battery indicator circle. It does not have the weather feature though.

Is this referring to the circle clock that appears on the lock screen/(whatever the screen is called when you just bump it), or the one on the home screen? My home screen circle clock battery still shows, but the new update turned my bump screen to just black with a digital time read out, which is mostly useless. I have a g7 power.

If that is what you're talking about, it looks like I am going to have to roll back as well. I don't like anything in this update anyway, so rolling back literally has no negatives for me.

How do you remove a feature your customers want? Someone made their own decision to remove it because they didn't feel the need anymore..

LMAO! They said never to return, so they put it on the Moto G8 Power!

Re:g7 play Time & Weather widget - no battery circle

This is so infuriating.  You guys continue to take away useful features with upgrades.

I lost the the voice Moto Actions capability when upgrading to this phone, now I lose this when grading the OS.

Extremely annoying........

Re:Moto G7 Power - Android 10 Update - Time and weather widget not showing battery in outer ring

2020-09-07, 12:44 PM
i made an account on here just so i could comment on this. i just got the upgrade on my phone two days ago and I have to say that i really miss the percentage and ring showing me my battery power left on my phone. i have spent the last two days trying to find any kind of setting to get it back but it seems like it's gone. the only way i can tell what my battery is at now is the tiny number at the top right inside of the battery icon but i can barely read those. is there any sort of app anyone knows of that could give me the same thing or am i just out of luck with this new update?

Hi AveryTheBull,

Unfortunately, this is part of the update that we're not sure if developers will bring it back. We are aware all of us provided this feedback so I have pass this along to our Product Teams. As for the apps, there are couple in Play Store but we don't guarantee any of them.

Best regards,
Rich

Circular battery charge indicator on Peek Display

2020-09-08, 21:40 PM

Who had the bright idea of eliminating the old circular blue graphic on the Peek Display that indicated the battery charge level?  In Android 10 it was replaced by an eensy-teensy numeric display up in the upper right corner.  How is this an improvement?  What was wrong with the blue circle?  I really liked the blue circle.  Did anyone dislike it?  If so, could it be an option?  I can usually figure out some sort of rationale for changes that I hate, but in this case I'm utterly stumped.  Why was this a good idea?
