Moto g7 power Android 10 signal reception ruined

Android 10 update was forced to my unlocked moto g7 power running straighttalk on Verizon network with no option to prevent. Phone doesn't get near the service it use to and the internet drops inand out in areas that had semi full to full service prior to the Android 10 update. Read if you try a full reset it'll reset back to Android 10 and problems will continue or some that had the phone stop working entirely. I would like to be rolled back to Android 9 until this can be fixed. I had no desire to update to 10 but it forced itself to update over mobile data even though my auto updates are turned off and never wanted to select to update.  I also noticed when the service starts dropping that, even though I have a CDMA straight talk sim card, I could turn the phone on gsm and receive intermittent signal as well at times which prior to Android 10 never would do that. I tried the reset for wifi, mobile and bluetooth twice with no luck. I powered the phone off and on many times with no luck. I removed the sim card and powered it on then reinstalled the sim with no luck. I checked for updates and all are up to date. Apparently the only way is to roll back to Android 9 somehow. If you can't fix this fast it's going to easily begin to appear, and already kinda is with the long delay, like Motorola just wants everyone with this phone to buy a new phone and that this was possibly purposely set out to destroy our phones. And of coarse it eats the battery like crazy now when it was working great. Internet, even with full bars and LTE signal, drops connection randomly. Sometimes it has a little x at the bottom right of the signal meter and sometimes not. Sometimes the LTE symbol turns dark gray and doesn't work then either. Sometimes it just drops to 1x even with full signal. Calls are choppy and cut in and out randomly at will and are no longer clear even with 4 plus bars. Calls also totally disconnect randomly even with great service. I use to be able to leave work and talk to my spouse for 45 min straight without a single hiccup in call clarity and now I can't even talk in the middle of town with great signal hardly. Lot of areas my signal and net were working it's totally unusable now. My spouses phone, a Motorola power 2020 version, always had perfectly equal signal as mine side by side in the same places. Now my phone no longer works when my spouses is working great running videos right beside me and mine won't even load a low data usage webpage. Please roll our phones back to Android 9 for now. This Android 10 apparently doesn't work on this moto g7 power. There's plenty complaints of the same issue. Everyone knows it is the update as it's extremely obvious. Also stop forcing, or even asking, people to update if you didn't try it and test it 100% successfully on each phone model prior to rolling it out. I tried to avoid the update and was given no choice as it auto installed over cellular data April 01 and I made screenshots of it saying it will force it through. Please fix fast. We need our phones without skips in service. A shame cause I was just starting to really like Motorola and buying only Motorola's but now am wandering if I should go back to my old brand. Hope you're cs is as good as the phone USE to be. Don't risk losing a ton of repeat customers over this, please fix! Looks really really horrible that Motorola forced an update that breaks our phones. HELP!!!!

Re:Moto g7 power Android 10 signal reception ruined

The Android 10 upgrade on my Power G7 has caused it to reboot and not stay steady at all. I wish I could reinstall 9 as well. I know there is some kind of design flaw in this phone because they don't even list it on the Rescue and Smart Assistant to reinstall the boot up. I feel like I was sold a piece of bad technology and that there needs to be a class action suite to get satisfaction from Lenova/Motorola .

Hi Jazzman2010

Unfortunately, there's no native option to restore to Android 9. May I know what you mean by reinstall the boot up using Rescue tool? I would suggest using the Rescue tool and do the Rescue function. Kindly just backup important files so you won't lose them. I hope that helps. Thanks.

Re:Moto g7 power Android 10 signal reception ruined

JazzMan2020,

I have come to the same conclusion you have. It has been undoubted PROVEN on hundreds of forums with thousands of Moto G-family phones ALL experiences the SAME incompatibility issues immediately following the Android 10 forced update then restarting their phone. I'm a fairly tech savvy person and I after many hypotheses, testing, and troubleshooting steps the only possible answer to what would suddenly cause thousands of Moto G-family phones to all start to experience technical failures and device malfunctions in the exact same way, is that we have all been sold pieces of untested junk pre-installed with faulty software that is INCOMPATIBLE with the code within the Android 10 update. I have been a countless forums talking to thousands of Moto G-family phone owners who we all have tried, to no avail, to get Motorola to even acknowledge this is unquestionably due to their faulty devices, and finally get them to take responsibility and hold themselves accountable for the THOUSANDS of customers who have been scammed out of money that's tighter for most Americans right now than its ever been in their life and a couple hundreds bucks lost for some is the difference between losing their electricity or not being able to pay overdue rent. Not only has absolutely no solution, apology, or admission of fault been offered from Motorola, but I have yet to see ANYWHERE that Motorola has even ACKNOWLEDGED there's even an issue in the first place!

So I believe you are 100% right. There needs to be a class action filed to get justice for the thousands of people Motorola has made clear by their lack of integrity will continue to be ignored until that option is taken from them. I am 100% on board with any class action regarding this issue. I have no idea what the process is to file something like that, but ya know what, today feels like a good day to do some research and learn how to. Thanks for bringing that up, it gave me just the nudge I needed.

Re:Moto g7 power Android 10 signal reception ruined

I've gone round and round with Lenovo trying to see if I could just get my G7 reinitialized with the version 9 that worked. They told me it couldn't be done and that my only recourse was to contact my service provider to see what they could do. I use Consumer Cellular and because I couldn't wait I bought another phone and had the number transferred over. That was another $270 dollars I shouldn't have had to spend. Perhaps we should contact one of those attorneys who advertise for class action suites on TV and see if they would be interested in our case.

We're willing to work with you to troubleshoot to get your phone working. Downgrading the phone is not an option but we do want to help in every way that we can to have this fixed and find out what's causing this. If you can update your profile with your phone's IMEI and carrier so that we may further look into this. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.
