WIFI Calling

2020-08-13, 17:41 PM

We have very poor cell service where I live, so I purchased a G7 Play phone that is supposed to be capable of WIFI calling (purchased 2 from Amazon, one through Amazon directly and the other from an Amazon seller). We switched from Verizon to Red Pocket (AT&T) since Red Pocket said that they can enable WIFI calling on the network with this phone and Verizon would only activate it on a phone bought through them. At Red Pocket's end, WIFI calling is enabled. On my phone, there is no option to turn WIFI calling on. Not greyed out, it just doesn't exist.  Red Pocket doesn't know why it is not there, their system shows the phone is compatible and he walked me through all the steps to turn it on, but the menu option is just not there. I called Motorola tech  support and they told me I have to go through the seller. Of course Amazon just wants to refund or replace the phones. Any ideas?

ATT and it's kids don't support Wi-Fi calling on phones you don't buy from them. Pixel is on the list too. You can put your SIM in an ATT branded phone and the option will be there. Get a refund while you can.

Hi mountainbiker,

Moto G7 Play does not support WiFi calling on AT&T nor MVNO's using AT&T's network. I understand this is important to you, I checked this, if you're interested the Moto G7 Play supports WiFi Calling on T-Mobile. Please let me know. Thanks.

Best regards,
