YouTube disable

2020-06-28, 0:50 AM
Under settings apps & notifications open YouTube then storage and disable. Later I open Google Playstore checking updates and YouTube updated itself. I AGAIN disable. Now how do I keep it disabled?

Hi Daffy. Daf,

The app is still on Play Store and if it got updated on Play Store, the app will automatically re-enable. You can keep the app disabled if you turn off automatic updates in Play Store > Settings > Auto-update apps > Don't auto update apps. Thanks.

Hi Daffy. Daf,

Stock apps cannot be uninstalled, but you can disable them. This will uninstall all recent updates from the app but will still show an update available in Play Store. If the app got updated in Play Store, it will automatically re-enable. It is recommended to turn off auto-update as suggested.

Hi Daffy. Daf,

That's odd. I'd like to know, how long does it take for the app to re-enable again? Are you launching the app while it's disabled? Try clearing the apps data and turn off notification in the Settings > Apps > Youtube > Clear Storage/Data and Turn off Notifications.

Also, can you please update your profile with the current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > System > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

See here for the instruction. Thanks!
