cannot find PRL refresh since android 10 update

2021-05-08, 14:00 PM

Using Moto G7 pw (late 2019 series) on Republic Wireless w/ CDMA Simm.

Since updating to android 10, my phone will only roam data for very select towers...about 10% of those which seem to be very good signal strength.

Thus, I can only get cell data once in great while when I'm outside of my home area.

I've tried selecting access point names without success.

And I can no longer find where the prl refresh is.

I'm told to find it in main system settings, system upgrade - prl update.....but prl update is not displaying in this screen.

Where is it?

Plz help!!!!

Thanks

Hi labear

Have you tried contacting your carrier regarding that? Please let me know what they have suggested you. Thanks.

Yes, they just recommend the same ol stuff; refresh cell service, refresh sim activation, forced restart ( they also reactivated my service.

Nothing so far has helped.

They still seem to believe that I should be able to do PRL Update via my main settings, system, system upgrade, PRL Update...but my system upgrade screen does not show a PRL Update selection.

As such, I have know way to do a PRL Update.

They also say that because I had to have a CDMA sim for my home area, that other locations recetion cannot be assured. Meaning that my national text, voice & data may not be usable anymore.

The one thing they refuse to answer is why all my CDMA reception (talk, data, etc) issues seemed to begin about same time as when my phone was updated to android 10.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi labear,

We're looking into the PRL update part. In the mean time can you fill out the signal issues form. Put in the exact location where your device tries to roam and data isn't working.

Hi labear

Sorry it is supposed to be (*#*#72786#*#*) without the parenthesis.
