g7 plus: battery drain over night

2019-02-23, 6:26 AM

im facing around 6% battery loss over night in flight mode.

my g4 plus didn't loose a single percent.

the battery stats dont show any app that causes the drain.

someone else has the same issue?

Have you tested in safe mode?

To reboot into safe mode, tap the power button until you see power off on screen. Then tap and hold power off (on screen) and a new menu will appear to reboot into safe mode.

well, safe mode makes it better.

4% in 8 hours with enabled safe mode and flight mode.

the 6% from the past days were in a duration of 6 hours.

what else can i check?

You can try other tools like GSAM and see if you can pinpoint what is draining battery. If that doesn't help, you can reset and setup from scratch (no resetore) and then test with no apps installed. Then install one app, test for some time. Then another app, etc. Until you hopefully find the app responsible.

Hopefully it is nothing built in like Google Play.

I'd also like to look at some things from my end. Please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Thank you for updating. I had someone take a look and they didn't see anything concerning or any issues at all. That being said if you feel there is a problem with battery drain then can you put your phone into Airplane mode and make sure WiFI is also turned off and generate a bug report when you see the battery drain. I can have someone look at that report.

1. Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Tap on Build number 7 times on the build number to go in to the developer options mode]
2. After the above steps Developer options will be enabled.
3. Go to Settings ->Developer options -> Enable Usb debugging > Toggle On
4. Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Bug Report shortcut > Toggle On
5. Once the issue is reproduced, Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Click on take bug report or Press Power button and then choose Bug Report from the Power down menu.
6. Wait for some time until the bug report is collected. It takes around 3 to 4 minutes to collect the Bug Report.
7. Then upload the BugReport to your personal Google Drive and then share the link to the BugReport via a private message to me.
8. Provide observations of what you saw happen right before the bug report was taken. Please indicate the time that you observed the behavior in local time.

ok i'll try to send a bug report.

but you wrote that you didnt find a problem.

so is it normal to have around 1-2% battery loss per hour in normal standby?

today i used my phone 8 minutes (digital wellbeeing says it - i really not used it much. 1-2 messages and thats it) but it lost 25% in 12hours.

so if i dont use my phone and just put it on the desk, the battery will be empty in 50hours.
