Problems with Waze and GPS when call incomes

Hi everyone, I've got a Moto G7 Plus and it happens that Waze loses GPS signal when incoming calls: it disappears exactly when I answer an incoming call. When I shut down, GPS signal comes back. That doesn't happen with Google maps and happens when using android auto or not. I tried to uninstall waze, I verified all the settings, I also tried to power off all the power saving settings, but It doesn't work.

 

I think it's so strange to have this issue with Waze and not with Maps, don't you think? Anyone else in my situation?

Hi emiroma,

 

Thanks for writing to us, sorry about the ongoing trouble you have been facing in regards to the GPS with 'Waze' app on incoming calls. We will investigate this further from our end too, as this is odd that the Maps are working fine regardless of the incoming calls. In the meantime, we would suggest you —get in touch with 'Waze' app developer to see what they say about this.

I'd like to get a couple more things to help troubleshoot this. Can you share a screenshot and a Bug Report when you encounter this issue? Note, please do no try to complete these steps while driving. You should be able to duplicate while parked and not connected to a WiFi network.  Below are the steps to generate a bug report.

 

1. Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Tap on Build number 7 times on the build number to go in to the developer options mode]
2. After the above steps Developer options will be enabled.
3. Go to Settings ->Developer options -> Enable Usb debugging > Toggle On
4. Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Bug Report shortcut > Toggle On
5. Once the issue is reproduced, Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Click on take bug report or Press Power button and then choose Bug Report from the Power down menu.
6. Wait for some time until the bug report is collected. It takes around 3 to 4 minutes to collect the Bug Report.
7. Then upload the BugReport to your personal Google Drive and then share the link to the BugReport on the forums in a reply or via a private message.
8. Provide observations of what you saw happen right before the bug report was taken. Please indicate the time that you observed the behavior in local time.

The bug was reported at 11:57 - 11:58. Gps lost connection with satellites in the exact moment I answered a phone call and recovered connection in the exact moment I shut down the phone call. It happens everytime I used to phone call while Waze is running, while it doesn't happen with Google Maps running.
