Problem 5ghz wifi with Bluetooth

2020-08-01, 6:49 AM
Hello. I have problem with my wifi (5ghz) on my Moto g8 plus. When i play online games ( even other times but thats not so anoying) it keeps disconnect like every min. The icon for wifi in top corner disapear for some second and then comes back and im connected again. This happen only on the 5ghz network and on different routers iv been connected to. Discovered later that if i turned of Bluetooth in settings it stoped disconnect. It was enough to only have it activated with no paired device to it to make it flip out. This is strange cuz iv heard some people have problem with 2,4ghz wifi and bluetooth cuz they use same freq, but not 5ghz. Thanks for advice Ps: phone is updated with latest updates

Hi Squashen,

I'd love to help you with that. Please provide us the make and exact model of the Wi-Fi Router. We would also like to request bug report with both Wi-Fi Verbose and Bluetooth snoop log enabled.

BLUETOOTH BUG REPORT:
1. Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Tap on Build number 7 times on the build number to go into the developer options mode]
2. After the above steps Developer options will be enabled.
3. Go to Settings ->Developer options -> Enable USB debugging > Toggle On
4. Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Bug Report shortcut > Toggle On
5. Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Enable Bluetooth HCI snoop log > Toggle On

6. Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Wi-Fi Verbose > Toggle On
7. Once the issue is reproduced, Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Click on take bug report or Press Power button and then choose Bug Report from the Power down menu.
8. Wait for some time until the bug report is collected. It takes around 3 to 4 minutes to collect the Bug Report.
9. Then upload the Bug Report to your personal Google Drive
10. Open the File Manager app on your phone and tap on Local on the top right. Browse to internal.
11. Share the link to the BugReport via a private message.
12. Provide observations of what you saw happen right before the bug report was taken. Please indicate the time that you observed the behavior in local time.
13. One completed to Settings-> Developer options -> Enable Bluetooth HCI snoop log > Toggle Off

@Hurint Are you having the same problem as the original poster?

Hi Hurint

I have not yet received a bug report from my PM inbox. Are you able to send it again?  I'll check on your post and check what we can do to have it fixed.

@Squashen Thanks for providing us the bug report but you have not yet provided me the router details.

Dont know if this is usefull for u. But here is 2 screens of a tp test done first with bluetooth on ( No attached device, just on) and then same test a min after with bluetooth off. Both on 5ghz.  Edit: did same test with My old Moto g6 plus and in those 2 tests the result was same with bluetooth on or off. Some slightly difference but not Hugh.

Hi Squashen,

Thanks for providing the screenshots. This will prove useful if we need to compare speed test when the Bluetooth is on and off.
