Warranty ripoff

2021-06-08, 13:49 PM

My phone stopped charging from any charger or cable, except that it will take a charge from a laptop or car charger.  I've tried the rebooting, no help.  A quick search on here was little help.

But the real issue is that I call support and they tell me that since my phone was made in the CAYMAN ISLANDS, there is no warranty at all.  Told me to call Walmart, where I purchased it online.  That ought to be fun.  I couldn't half-understand the motorola support person.

Motorola doesn't stand behind its product.  I'll make sure EVERYBODY I know, knows that.

Ridiculous.

Thanks, but I see no option to message you when I click your profile... only some statistics and past posts.

Hello, I'd like to take a moment to jump on this topic. So the model you bought from Walmart comes with a 30-day limited warranty from Walmart. See below:

I would highly recommend contacting Walmart to see if they can swap or get the phone repaired.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Mike Pierich

We would like to apologize for your recent experience. We did try our best to escalate this from our end, but because it wasn't a model officially sold in the US we are unable to offer any repair options. We'd highly recommend contacting Walmart. Motorola phones are only in warranty in the country/region in which they are intended for sale. We never recommend buying a phone in one region for ongoing use in another for this reason.

Best regards,
Rich
