Biggest mistake of my life that I purchased moto g9

2020-11-09, 7:41 AM

This was my first and last moto phone...I will never recommend anybody to purchase moto phones....as they cheat people by giving wrong information.....instead of 48 mp camera only 12 mp sensor given.....that too captures photo like VGA camera.....moto neither giving update nor fixing any bugs in this phone....

I swear that I'll not let anybody purchase any type of product from moto in my family.

It is such a liarrr

You are wrong about the camera resolution.

If you look at the official Motorola site the 48/12 megapixel difference is explained. 48/12 and 64/16 phone cameras are commonplace now across all brands of phone.

https://www.motorola.in/smartphones-moto-g9/p

From the above site: "The 48 MP sensor combines 4 pixels into 1, for an effective photo resolution of 12 MP"

The process is called pixel binning, carry out a Google search.

@Cuddly

Even with pixel binning, low light performance is very bad(I am being as mildly as possible when I said "very bad"). I don't care for the camera, But it has other issues like the power button issue, Glitched Bhim payment interface, which have been there for months.

I'm sorry you're unhappy with the phone. As I mentioned in the camera thread, there will be improvements for the camera coming. As for the power button, we're actively tracking these reports. Have you had the phone repaired yet?

Cuddly is correct. The marketing page for the phone does advise of the 12MP. That being said, there will be some camera improvements coming in a future update.

@MotorolaTom

The camera update is good. Video recording used to shimmer(like you when you try to record a screen of old cathode ray tube tv with your phone, it shimmers) and now it doesn't. I got my phone back from the service center but the issue(power button) still remains(now sometimes even the google assistant button doesn't recognize the click). Can you tell me what do we call the circuit that includes power, volume, and google assistant button? I try to request them to change that circuit in the service center.

thanks.

I'm sorry, I don't have those technical details. I would say try the service center again to see if they can get it working. If not, I would think they should probably replace the mainboard, but then again, I don't work at the service centers so I can't make that call.

First you need to understand the pixel binning quad pixel technology.

Then you need to realize what you´re paying.

@HenriqueM

It doesn't matter now. After the November update, we got an option to take pictures with high resolution(48MP).
