Recording Phone Calls

2020-10-24, 7:48 AM

I want to be able to record incoming and outgoing phone calls but the instructions in the user manual are no help as I do not have "Start Record" and "Stop Record" buttons on the call screen.

Do I have to do something extra to get these buttons and full functionality?

According to some sites Google Android stopped allowing users to record calls from Android 9 Pie onward for legal reasons in some countries. I have seen posts mentioning a recorder all called,"Bold Beast" that can still record calls but I've never tried it.

HTH :)

Then I find it very disappointing that Motorola keep it in the owners manual as a usable feature.

I read the manual prior to purchase and it was an influencing factor so I feel a little let down by Motorola.

Doesn't the user manual also say "Not all carriers and countries support this feature"?

Under Phone Calls/During a call/Record calls

In Australia I believe it is legal as long as you get consent from both parties (in some states just one party needs to consent), by announcement that recording is in operation with option to disconnect. I would have thought the resources of Motorola would have kept in step with legislation where they release products. Saying "Not all carriers and countries support this feature" is extremely misleading as it is not a feature that Motorola supply anywhere from what I have been able to research.

I understand what you're saying. However, the call recording feature provided by Google is completely controlled by Google. We have no control over which phones and in which countries it shows up on.
