Mobile supporting only 30 Watts for fast charging

2021-10-13, 16:23 PM

Hi Team,

First of all I'm very much satisfied in purchasing this smartphone even though there are some minor issues. My major concern is about the phone's charging capabilities.

I tried charging the phone using a 18 Watts charger and a 15 Watts charger to avoid overheating but both failed to charge the phone faster. It seems like the mobile supports only stock 30 Watts charger provided in the box for fast charging. Kindly give us an OT updated regarding this. Thanks :)

Hi @ Enyy23,

Thanks for taking the time to post regarding your phone's charging. We'll try our best to help. The device can be charged with an 18W or 15W charger. However, this won't charge your phone faster as it does with the 30W charger. Charging the device with lower than what the phone supports will only charge the phone in the normal phase. Having a 5000mAh battery will take time to be fully charged if the phone only supports 10-18W. It is still recommended to use the same charger that came with the phone.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Jess

Hi

But all three chargers 10W, 15W and 18W charging at same speed. All three chargers taking exactly same amount of time. There is no difference.

Hi,

I understand your concern. But, we do not recommend charging the phone with other chargers rather than the supplied charger. It may affect the battery life. I hope you understand.

Thanks

Sunitha

I don't understand. Using a 30 Watts charger degrates the battery worse than using other chargers.

Previously I used Redmi note 8. The phone supports 18 Watts. In that phone whatever charger (10W or 15W) we plugin it charges the phone as per the charger rating. Checked using Ampere app.
