Motorola Edge 30 not charging

I have recently bought my new Motorola Edge 30, only for the first 2 days it was working properly. Then the Turbo charging stopped working and when I took it to the service centre they told me that it's a water damege ( but it never happened) as they can see bluish stain on charge port wall ( they only viewed from outside ) and the phone is not connecting to their laptop, i need to change the charge port on my own expense. The changing speed it too slow that it takes more than 3 hrs to charge. 

But when I connected it to my personal laptop it's getting connected and on charging with my OnePlus Adaptor it's changing decently fast.

What should I do. Please give me a solution.

Welcome to the Motlrola forums community!

 

Sorry to hear that you have this problem with charging. If you have tried to change the charge port already, we highly suggest sending the device to a local service center for a thorough evaluation and getting the device repaired.

I purchased my Motorola Edge 30 in 04/07/22 & up till a few weeks ago it stopped charging too & even stopped doing turbo charge .

To this end i found that the factor reset did help to some extent till it started doing updates then the charging & Turbo would stop after the updates.

in the end i took my Edge 30 to the place of purchase for a repair...the store tell me i will have to wait till the 24th Jan 2023 for it to come back & if not repaired then i will be offered a replacement.  

i thought it was just me with this issue too...guess not??

I will keep you posted on this.

To be honest i was dismayed by the store of purchase misleading me by telling me that they would give me a replaacement under the original warranty then tell me something else when i was at the store to have them inform me that they would have to send off my Edge 30 for repair & to top that i've not even owed it more than 6 months from purchase!!!

Greetings, same problem here, Moto Edge 30, few days old, everything was working fine until I did all the Android updates. Now the phone stops charging at 81%, tried to switch off adaptive/optimized.overcharge settings, but still nothing changes. Please advise what to do. Thank you

Not long ago after i was messed about by the retailer i got in contact with Motorola directly.

Motorola sent me over some documents to print out & sent off my Edge 30 for repair under warranty.

They quicky fix my edge 30 & was was soon back to me in under 10 days or less,

From the repair sheet it said they replace the USB Type C board, Fix it & updated the Android system to V12

Amazing, thanks a lot for your response, I was going crazy here! I tried slower charger, it would appear to be working, charge higher by 1% and then stop again... Great to hear there's a solution, I've already reached out to Motorola service center here to send mine for repair. Crazy, never had this happen. Thanks for your help!

Just an update, Motorola sent me some tips and surprise surprise, one of them seems to be working, posting it here so others in the same situation can find solution:

Force reboot (THIS DIDN'T DO ANYTHING)

In the unlikely event that your device becomes unresponsive, try a force reboot. Press and hold the power key for 10 seconds to perform a force reboot on the device. Note: Data on your phone will not be deleted If reboot was not successful you should attempt the reboot while connected to a wall charger.

Resets the battery meter. (THIS ACTUALLY WORKED!!!)

With the phone ON and unplugged from the wall charger, press the POWER button for 20 seconds until the phone reboots. When the phone restarts, connect the wall charger. Charge your phone to 100% and leave it charged for a few hours after reaching 100%.

 

I was quite surprised when I plugged in the phone into the charger and it went past 80% without an issue. Hopefully the problem is now fixed! Thanks everyone!
