Re:Android 11 on Edge Plus

At this point having security updates that come out more than every quarter would be nice.  I got the phone in May 2020.  Since then I can count the number of security updates on one hand, and don't need all the fingers!  With everyone using their phones for virtually everything including banking, Google Pay, PayPal, etc., security updates are imperative.  An before you say, "well if one isn't needed they don't put one out", I have to wonder why two other major manufactures (yeah, those two) put them out at least monthly if not more?  Hell at this point put one out every month even if it does nothing just so the customer at least thinks you give a crap about them.

Interesting.  I am a Fido customer as well.  Got the Edge+ on Jan and have been generally quite happy with the phone.

I would not really rely on that release schedule though.  If it does happen then it's a great bonus.

Agree completely on the security updates.   For giggles I fired up my S9 that's been offline for 3 months this week.  Guess what?  It received 3 security patches/updates/improvements immediately.   Guess how many the S9's had since 2018?   THIRTY THREE security patches!!   How many have my Edge had since May of 2020?   THREE.   Motorola promised regular security patches.   A couple a year is NOT regular patching by any security standards.  I've given up on the Edge; pulled off the Band-Aid and paid it off at a huge loss, got rid of Verizon at the same time after 22 years, and went with an S21 on Spectrum Wireless (which uses Verizon's network) and am very happy.  Paying 1/5th the monthly costs, and the service is actually better at home compared to the Edge+ on Verizon...   Gave Moto one last chance thinking they'd finally hold up their end of the bargain for updates and security.   Not being fooled again-ever and this at least my 6th Motorola phone since the late 2000's.  Now I have a $1,000 device sitting in a drawer which is unfortunate.  There is no excuse or argument on why monthly patching isn't necessary, it is.

I think Motorola had lost its sense of business, we bought the more expensive phone because we want the best overall, best phone and updates, I sincerely would pay even a bit more to have the best, but now I see Android 12 stable version coming out soon and Motorola struggling to update its flagship to Android 11, even with an almost pure UI.

Hi.

If you have a Verizon edge+ and have not received an update notification, you can manually pull the Android 11 update by going to Settings > System updates > Check for new system update.

Regards,
