Hey.

Thanks for the answer.

We get the same results, as your non-secure debug unit. Even though our units should be secure.

What i did notice, is that when we check for "supported hardware codecs" in app, we get VP9 and AVC-High.

On other phones, even rooted ones, that had root hidden, theese 2 codecs also contain a "(Secured)" afterpart.

Hence why i was curious about the phone missing the HDCP part.

I am unsure of MHL on the EDGE+, but getting an usb hub with HDMI gets me a very high latency picture on the TV, so it should be there.

Yeah, it is usually tied to HDMI, but it is supposedly a security feature for "secured content" like NETFLIX, and i honestly have no other idea why we would lose HD, as our phones are not rooted or unlocked. If they would be, i could hide it, and could get the L1 security properly. As i have on my tablet.

Do contact me, if you would like some testing done,or newer bugreport with october update, though my unit is an edge+, not the normal one.

But since both unit has the same issue, it might help uncover something.

I have received the october update on my device, both google and motorola, and it has changed nothing, so i am writing this

I appreciate the offer to help, but to keep the community cleaner, I'm going to recommend you post over in the Edge+ community. This way Matt, who manages Edge+, can gather the required information and escalate accordingly. As for Edge it doesn't support MHL at all. Only Edge+ supports it.

Posting it here aswell, as it might help figure it out why it happens on both devices.

Android 11 update did not upgrade us back to L1, we whom got bugged out sooner, are still unlucky ones, still on the Widevine L3, since the june update.

But the good news is, "https://9to5google.com/2021/04/06/pixel-widevine-l3/"

Asus and Xiaomii were also able to fix this, and so shall google, the only question is how many months later will we get it to our motorolas.

Now the source edition of the copy paste android version of motorola ls also having trouble with this, so my guess is about 3 months, as they do not have to fix it themselves, just catch up to other flagship manufacturer's.

@UNTIG the sensor issue is there since day one the phone came out, you just happened to notice it now. It is weirdly connected to wifi and data in general. Turn wifi and mobile data off and see for yourself, it should go off immediately... I reported this a couple of times but no one seemed to care enough to fix it on any of the previous updates...

Checked it, now i do not see it anymore.

Though could be still there, as it not night yet, but it definetly less network blinky on android 11.

If it is there, it is now unnoticable to me.

Yay, now only many more to go.

I honestly did not see it until 2nd patch.

It was bleeding through movies back then, though back then i had HD video playback aswell =D

So not a good tradeoff.

@UNTIG that is right, not a good tradeoff at all. I mean of you want the sensor off, no wifi or data? Turns it into a feature phone...

OK, i will have to file a new bugreports anyway, as the proximity sensor is disabled now completly.

It works on lockscreen, as it has the peak display or whatnot feature enabled, but in android 11 it does not turn off the screen.

Not even in call mode, thus the display times out, and then i have to wake it up with power button use the fingerprint to unlock, then can end my call.

Not fun.

It also does do "pocket detection" anymore.

BTW it still blinks like crazy on lockscreen, even on AIRPLANE MODE.
