Re:Edge+ Wifi and 4G Connection Problema

Yeah, it's this phone. I can't tell you how long ago it was when people said, "I can't understand you" over the phone or I dropped a call. The last time I remember having call issues was 2012 when a storm knocked out a few towers in town. I really don't think I've had a dropped call since then. Now with this phone I've had more call issues than I've ever had since the mid 2000s. I feel like I'm paying an extra $40 every month to go back in time to what cell phone reception used to be like. It's very disheartening. The worst Motorola phone I've owned since 2002 is also the newest and most expensive.

Honestly, I think they forgot to install the antennas or something. How can calls, 4G, and WiFi all be bad? My bluetooth has surprisingly good range. Everything else is terrible.

Any updates? Should I just see if Verizon will switch me for a new one? Or would I have better luck reaching out to Motorola for a replacement? Or do you think a new phone would have the same problems? Or maybe a software fix is in the works? I feel like if I keep waiting, no one will help me. I really don't want a phone insurance used replacement that someone else has had their grimy hands on for a month. It's the most expensive phone I've ever owned... I don't want to spend the next 2 years with someone else's used $1,000 phone.

Hi.

Sorry I didn't circle back before. Based on all the good data you provided, a ticket was opened on this and a patch has been developed. It will be delivered in a future update. I'm sorry but I don't have timing on that.

I am sorry about the delay and the problem. Replacement won't help, since they were able to root cause it. We do appreciate your help with this and hope waiting for the patch isn't too much of a hardship.

This is why I think communities like this are the best source of feedback on our phones. Forums rule.

Hi, I am also facing 4g and wifi issues. There is very low to no signal whereas the same sim with another phone has full signal. The wifi also is really patchy with constant drops and long time to connect to a wifi. Any help would be appreciated!

4G LTE and phone connectivity issues

2020-06-29, 15:31 PM

I'm having issues while at home with my connection.  I previously had a Droid Turbo (yes the original - I refused to update until someone came out with a phone with an awesome camera) and the signal was 2-3 bars of 4G, sometimes bounce to 3G, but it was a steady connection.  With the Edge+ most of the time I cannot even connect to anything - internet, facebook, etc. even though it shows 2 bars of 4G.  All of this while my husband can sit in the same place at home on his Galaxy S10 watching videos.  I've had to use his phone several times to get done what I needed done.  It's frustrating, to say the least, to pay this kind of money for a new phone and not be able to use it when two other phones have usable service in the same household.

I've tried turning off the 4G and turning it back on, turning on airplane mode and back off.  If it helps, it only helps for a minute then right back to being a problem.  Sometimes I can't even get 1X service.  This is a problem since this is the only phone/internet I have at home for emergencies when my husband is working.  I've also had phone calls drop and/or not even ring through.

Any thoughts on if this is fixable or should I go through the hassle of returning my phone to Verizon and going backwards to my old, reliable Turbo?

It sounds like a software update is going to be released in the near future to fix these problems.

Dear Matt, my second replacement Edge+ from Verizon is having the same issues as the first phone, in that it also is dropping the 4G connection when using apps or surfing the web. This is happening pretty frequently. A while back you said there would be a software update coming. Can you let us all know what the status of that is since this is an ongoing problem with multiple phones? Please advise ETA on the fix and if this is definitely not a hardware issue? Thanks.
