Re:Microphone problems when using phone speaker on Skype, Teams, Zoom and Whatsapp.

Guys I see that all our complains are not taken seriously. All these reports started on since July 2020 and they didn't come with an official explanation of the issue, looks like we're not getting noticed. Having Matt that is placing himself in pretty comfortable position and replying back as "we don't offer ETAs" won't get any results. Is there another way to address this problem? Seems like here we won't be getting to an end soon.  Thanks!

Here to report the same issue happening on my own Motorola Edge+. Have tried factory resetting the phone only to notice that the issue returned. Would love to have this issue fixed.

@nhelmstetter keep waiting man. Issue has been outstanding for 6 months and still no resolution. Motorola's customer support is garbage as you can see. Probably explains why they are a failing company while Samsung is on top.

Also, we still haven't gotten Android 11 update on our phones, meanwhile Android 12 is about to drop. Meanwhile Samsung has updated their phones to Android 11. Ridiculous.

When my phone was finally repaired, there is no more screen problem. However, there has been another problem the similar like everybody here described. When I turn on the rear camera, I hear "white noises" from the front speaker and something like a fan spinning, exactly the same like from my laptop. This only happens when I turn on the rear camera. I hear that sounds when I have the front call speaker very close to my ear (because this is not a loud sounds) and what is even more weird that I hear this noises during the RECORDED movie's playback. It's embarrassing  and I don't know what can I do with it.

Add me to the list too. Can't even use Google assistant by clicking the mic.

Very frustrating since I've only had the phone since December.

Matt, any update?

Starting to miss my Z4...

There was a kernel update on March 7, 2021. Which I think may have improved the speaker phone / video calls.

Anybody else notice an improvement?

Guys, add me in with this problem.

I found one thing though. If you speak just by the microphone placed under the phone and put the phone in static position, the person on the other side might hear it better. However, when you start to use the phone (i.e. hands on touching, or even small movement, the camera module's noise OIS system will be picked up clearly(if you shake the phone abruptly you can hear with ease as well))

However there seems to be no issue when videotaping or recording. Software issues I suppose.

Please fix this

SOLUTION: Remove the case that covers your phone microphone!

All Users I found where the problem is now. (At least this is my case)

I found that if you cover the microphone at the back located on the top of of camera, (which you normally will cover it with a case or condom case) then once covered, the phone is going to capture all the noises when you rub the back of the phone. This is likely when any of the microphone is covered. So if a microphone is not receiving what others are, then likely that microphone will be upscaled and if you touch the phone, all the noises will be captured so that the receiving end will have difficulty to hear you!

Please let me know if anyone did it better after removing the plastic case.
