Permanently delete all data from motorola edge

2021-03-10, 10:02 AM

Hi,
I'm sorry if it's the wrong section, but I can't find that info anywhere.

I need to send my motorola edge to assistence, because of green/purple marks on my display after I use it for a while, they get bigger and bigger until my smartphone is unusable.

Before sending it, I want to make sure that my data and personal info are safe, and that they can't be retrieved by anyone.

I searched some tutorials on yt, and almost all of them says to remove all accounts, encrypt all data, then do a factory reset, fill the memory with random stuff, then do another factory reset.

After all these steps, they say I should be safe.

So after I removed my accounts, I tried to encrypt my data, but my motorola edge says that they're already encrypted. Now what? I skip that step and proceed to reset it and I'm still safe? Are there other steps that I need to do before sending it without worries?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, just so you are aware, a normal Factory Reset should be fine. Plus, when the phone is repaired, the software gets completely reloaded (fresh install) so there would be no easy way to retrieve deleted data anyways.
