Re:Problems on Screen Cast

2021-04-08, 21:05 PM

Hello,

I have followed all the discussions in your post and I share the fact that screen sharing on TV devices is very usefull and I too find myself out of this functionality with an LG new Smart TV (I agree it would be absurd to buy a Chromecast in that situation!).

Did you have some news to give us some help after upgrading to Android 11 ?

If you want you can also share out-of-stock solutions by sending me an e-mail .

Thanks.

Ds

Google removed it totally, and reinstalling is currently impossible.

Even though it is the same feature, connection through Wifi direct.

They use this technology on the chromecast aswell.

Not even samsung has this frature on their androod 11 anymore.

They did have it on android 10.

Only way now is through a google cast for 35$ that uses the same method.

Too bad that this means that most cheap projectors are also useless now.

And who would carry a google cast with the pico projector in their pocket.

Makes no sense.

Also there is no way this method works on preinstalled ceiling projectors.

The old one's.

There was a method that might have worked on 10… but said it was for android 9 only, though for a lenovo device, later adopted to pixel 1 and 2.

Though samsung did have this with their flagship on android 10 that also had hdmi on the usb-c for Dex, so i was assuming it could work for us.

And they also used the same thingy for Microsoft Your phone app.

And weirdly that still works, even on android 11.

Since our device had usb-c to hdmi.

This was a possibility.

Now it is gone, as moto officials stated they only support google cast.

I had not rooted mine, so it was just assumptions.

Given Motorola's response it probably would have not worked, likely due to DRM protection or something silly.

Just like seeing an android 11 beta 2 bugs in this stable release.

Unfortunately here the dominant politics of Big G. wins over everything... and the others can not help but bend :/

However the my ex Sony Xperia worked with LG screen share (but maybe because Android 9) ...who knows the last ones, but they are out of the market as very expensive brands in models Xperia 1 II and 5 II unfortunately !

However I have sent feedback to Motorola marketing requesting the feature, more that I can't do :')

...it will be their choice whether to have happy users or simply satisfy the average of other (mediocre) users.

Bye and thanks for the chat ;)

Thanks.

Given how now they also have the Android desktop mode, it is now distantly possible.

Would be cool if we did not have to use a HDMI cable or a Google "D" dongle.

It is a WIFI 6 phone, so it has the bandwidth to do so.
