Hi.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. By "dead pixel" are you seeing something like the "smugging" pictured below? Or actual dead pixels - small, unmoving dead spots, possibly black, on your display?

Let me know. We are glad to help with either.

Hi.

It's my understanding that you asked for a refund, but then had a replacement because you couldn't be without a phone. Becky is out today but has reached out to you. Please continue the conversation with her.

Re:Screen issue

Hi Matt,

Six weeks ago I bought the M Edge via BelSimpel here in Holland. The phone was build in July 2020.

After 28 days of use I eperienced the same screenissues as mentioned in this toppic. Send it back and BelSimpel gave me a refund, (amazing dealer btw!)

In the mean time I searched the web if I could find any info about this issues and that is why I came here. Beleive it or not, I have red all 119 pages of this topic :)

Normally I would skip a phone,   with the knowlegde I now have about these screenissues.  But I can't put the Edge out of my head. It is such an amazing phone and the Motorola Skin is so nice.  So I have a question for you if I may:

* What I learned in this thread is that hardware and manufactoringprosesses has been improved on the newer models.
From what date of build are the phones free of this screenissues?  SO I can keep that in mind when I buy a new one.
* Is the sreenissue solved overall ?  ( so we have a phone with the normal and acceptable risk on issues, like any other phonebrand out there )

A little convincing from your side that I should buy the phone is welcome  hahahaha

Cheers and thanks in Advance

Stan

Very interested in this as well. My situation is a little different in that I had two defective Moto Edge phones. The first I exchanged for a replacement from the retailer, the second I exchanged through a warranty replacement (thanks Becky!). This third one from Motorola seems to be fine about 10 days in. (The first two showed signs of the problem within 1 day.) I feel the same way about the Edge... love it! But also wondering what the problem was/is and if it is truly resolved and should I expect it to now show up again. Any insights would be great! Thanks!

Hi!

First of all - wow. You read this entire topic thread. You should get an honorary degree or something. :)

Your conclusion is essentially valid - we've made significant changes and improvements, and now "we have a phone with the normal and acceptable risk on issues, like any other phone brand out there."

I have been using this phone as my daily driver since launch -- about a year -- and I love it. The camera in particular is terrific.

Thanks for considering Motorola.

Yep, I did indeed red all of them, so now- I assume- have a degree in the M Edge Screen Issue Section,  Doctor that is.  :)

Ok, I'm gonna order one from my dealer BelSimpel again. Hope they can send me one that has been build recently.  They cannot look at the date of build when I order one, strange but true.

So fingers crossed and I will write my experience here.  when it goes wrong again I hope I can count on the M Edge team here, Matt and his staf that is. (and my dealer BelSimpel of course)

thx and cheers

Dr.  Stan

Hi.

Okay, that sounds different from what we're discussing on this thread -- instead it seems like a "dead pixel" as you indicated.

While there are some apps that suggest they can fix dead pixels, I'm not a believer. I suggest you submit your phone for repair; a dead pixel should be covered under warranty.

So sorry for this problem.
