Tap on app after Android 11

2021-03-27, 20:28 PM

Hi,

after Android 11 upgrade, when I tap on app the icon disappears for a few seconds before being performed; this annoying effect should be corrected with the next patches.

I am attaching a video to show what I indicated; in the video I tap on Chrome down to the screen.

Thanks

Hello and thanks for the video, it was very helpful. Thankfully it's not causing issues with the apps actually launching. I'll pass the feedback along, but I can't make any guarantees that there will be any improvements. That being said, you can enable developer options (Settings > About Phone > Tap on the build number 7 times > enter your pin). Then go to Developer options (Settings > System > Advanced > Developer options > Set the animator duration scale to .5x or off). This should improve what you're seeing.

ok, i will try and give you feedback.

I noticed that this behavior does not always do so, but only when, when the device is switched on again, I have the "Moto Actions" app always visible among the silent notifications that does not disappear, but is always active in the notification area. While the normal behavior should be that the "Moto Actions" app loads at first and then disappears, and in that case (like yesterday) the problem never occurred again.

Thanks

Here is the first feedback, the 5x scale solution, it slows everything down and doesn't help at all.

As I told you, I restarted the device (without turning it off as in the beginning) and the "Motorola Actions" app was loaded and then disappeared from the notifications, and the behavior no longer does.
Basically (summarizing) that bug effect does it only at the first start and loading of the "Motorola Actions" when the app fails to close properly, but remains fixed between notifications.

I believe that with the feedback received it will be easy for the developers to correct it.

Thanks.

This is comment on the animation scale. What Motorola Tom mentioned was to try changing the animation scale to 0.5x, not 5x. 5x would make all the animations much slower but 0.5x should make things feel snappier.

Ah, ok thanks, but I prefer to fix the bug in the "Motorola Actions" app, so as to have full functionality; I think that when the app is active and fails to close properly, it causes a slowdown in all animations and degrades performance and this behavior cannot only be avoided by "making the animations more fast or invisible" ;)

D

Thanks ;)

To have the same bug, you could (hypothesis), set in the Home the daily wallpaper change; then turn off the device, in this way when turning on Motorola Display + Motorola Action both will be executed.

Bye

I think you might be on to something with the Moto Actions notification. I was able to duplicate the animation glitch yesterday evening, but I've tried rebooting multiple times today to see if I can get the Moto Actions notification to get stuck, and I've been unable to. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing the visual/animation glitch now. I'm going to keep trying so I can grab debugging logs.
