Tom,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but after installing the QZK30.Q4-40-95 update, I am still missing calls when my phone has 5G set to ON. The good news is that the phone is NOT constantly switching bands like it did. Over the course of 3 hours, I called my phone 71 times, with various settings on the phone documented. Every time 5G is enabled, the phone is inconsistent, at best. I left the ACE on my desk and did not move it over the course of testing. Before every call, I recorded the bands and signal strength reported by Signal Check Pro.

Here is the data... ***Removed to protect privacy***

Not sure if this is a Motorola issue of a T-Mobile issue, but for me I still need to keep the phone set to LTE\3G\2G in order to receive calls and texts with confidence.

Thanks for your dedication in trying to figure this out for us.

BC,

I'm still chasing this from my end. Can you reopen the access to the Google Sheet? I'll take a copy of it so our engineers can refer back to it again.

Thanks,

Tom

Haven’t chimed in lately. As long as I keep 5G off I haven’t had any issues.

Hi Jim,

I actually had a meeting yesterday and today and brought this up with our engineers on both calls. I'm going to keep pushing on them until I get new feedback from them regarding this issue. Sorry that it's taking so long.

Thanks,

Tom

Same with me. A decade living in the same home, plenty of tower/signal. But this phone drops one side of the call, suddenly I cannot hear others but they can hear me. They give up and just hang up. I set the mobile network to NOT use 5G but rather the LTE/3G/2G network and so far it seems more stable, including SMS text and MMS texting of pics that often seem to get "stuck" and I have to tap to attempt to resend or even delete and create an all new message to try again. So far that seems more stable and works but I need more time to be sure. This is a shame. And all because everyone had to be the first to turn up 5G - And I'd bet as IEEE said years ago would happen that it's still not even REAL 5G protocol. What a mess. Never thought I'd appreciate the consumer advocacy efforts of Ralph Nader, anyone remember him? Kinda nuts but he was surely on to something when it comes to consumer protections.... consumers get screwed all around in the marketplace.

Hello. So I can say we are expecting some network improvements with the R update. How much improvement? That's to be determined. Our modem engineers are still actively working on this specific. I did just reach out again to get any new feedback I can on the situation.

Thanks,

Tom

I had an update the other day. QZKS30.Q4-40-95-2. Haven’t tried anything yet. Did this update have anything to do with this problem?

I believe that was just a security update, but it can't hurt to try. Let me know.

Thanks,

Tom
