Re: Android 10 is out for Motorola One Action

Such a joke from Motorola, because taking into account the fact that it is almost the end of February and the last security updates are from December, otherwise it cannot be called. "Motorola commits itself to regular and timely security updates as recommended by Google / Android. Although phones cannot be updated indefinitely, we provide industry standard security updates on both our regular and our Android One devices."

I agree.

What's more I just bought new Moto One Action and I can't update it beyond December Security Patch. There is almost May? What's going on?

Are you using it with a Polish SIM card? Have you tried to remove the SIM and try again? Looks like it can do the trick sometimes.

The latest update for your variant (by the way, I'm using the exact same one myself) should be at least February, if not March.

I've got Polish SIM card. But first time setup I did without it. Maybe that can create problem.

I honestly don't know if that could affect it... I don't think so... I mean, I don't see why it would. But if you can try without it, I'd love to know your results. :D That, if you haven't already tried it.

Also, the phone is not rooted or something like that, right? What about the software? Is it the default one that came with the phone? Was the phone brand new when you purchased it?

After powering down and removing SIM card it seems that nothing change with availability of updates :(. Maybe I need to wait some time. Phone is not rooted and have locked bootloader. It was bought brand new from quite a big retailer in my country.

That is weird indeed... What's your carrier? Do you have a T-mobile SIM card you can try? I'm not expecting any miracles but...I guess it's worth a try.

Potentially I can try T-Mobile SIM card. Right now I've got only card for "Play" carrier.

On one site I found info that there was/is an update for my phone with P/N: PAFY0006PL but only for T-Mobile carrier. Which is strange. But maybe my retailer sold some inventory from that cellular network?

I don't know... I honestly don't know. But yeah, it could be that the update is only available if you also have a T-mobile PL SIM card installed... So that would be my next move. If that doesn't work either, I honestly don't know what else to try. I mean, we could try a factory reset (with a backup, but without restore the first time). But maybe it's not necessary.

As you said, maybe it needed a SIM card at the first setup. And the fact that it didn't have one messed up some things. I don't know. But let's take them one by one. Maybe there's no need for a factory reset and we just need a T-mobile SIM card. :)
